The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova is recognized among the “Departments of Excellence” in Italy for 2023-2027
The Department of Economics and Management 'Marco Fanno' has been awarded the “Departments of Excellence” seal and is confirmed as one of the 18 Italian departments of economics and statistics to receive funding for the five-year period 2023 – 2027.
On 28 December 2022, ANVUR published its ranking of the 180 departments of Italian state universities standing out for their research quality and development projects.
The “Departments of Excellence” seal was already awarded to our department in 2018 until 2022 when 180 departments of Italian state universities were financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
This funding rewards excellence based on a standardised indicator of departmental performance (ISPD) and the ranking of departments in the national research quality assessment (VQR).
"We are very pleased with this important result," says Paola Valbonesi, Director of the Department. "The Department's project presented to the Ministry obtained the highest score on the all the indicators adopted for the evaluation. This recognition supports our continuous and choral investment in the quality of research and of the scientific, organisational, and teaching activities. Addressing environmental, social, digital and economic sustainability is the common thread of our project: we will use the significative funding to contribute deeply to the topic, developing new research and policy directions, while also finding useful links to our department's teaching and third mission."
