dSEA Lecture series: "Board Diversity, Faultlines and Groupthink"

We are pleased to welcome again Nicolàs GarcÍa Torea, Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Burgos, for a lecture series as part of the Corporate Governance, Accountability and Ethics course, taught by Prof. Giovanna Michelon, included in our Bachelor's degree in Economics (TrEC).

Beyond board diversity, research has pinpointed to the emergence of subgroups linked to the alignment of individuals’ attributes as influencing the decision-making process of a board of directors.

Prof. Garcia-Torea will delve into notions of board diversity, board faultlines and board groupthink to discuss how board dynamics can unfold and affect the quality of the strategic advice they provide. His lectures will combine a discussion of the key theoretical concepts which practical activities and exercises.
