dSEA Lectures series: "The GAAR in the Forest of International Tax Avoidance"
We are pleased to welcome the Honourable Gaetano Pagone AM KC, Professorial Fellow at Melbourne Law School, Former Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria Honorary President, International Association of Judges, as guest speaker for this lecture series as part of the International Taxation Law course, taught by Prof. Marcello Poggioli, included in our Bachelor's degree in Economics (Corso di laurea in Economia TrEC).
Gaetano Pagone will provide students with an in-depth analysis of international tax avoidance and the crucial role of the General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR) in combating it. Students will gain an advanced understanding of the complexities of cross-border tax schemes and learn how the GAAR acts as an essential tool for tax authorities to preserve the integrity of their domestic tax systems within an international context.
