Junior positions in Immigration and Health Economics

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova offers two junior positions:

P1) a two-year postdoc to join a project on immigration and health, aiming to uncover the effects of immigration on natives' health and their mechanisms, and the differential utilization of healthcare services between immigrants and natives. The gross salary will be 23,300 euro per year (about 1700 euro per month net of taxes). Ideal candidates should be trained either in the economics of immigration or in health economics, and should be proficient in Econometrics and in using STATA. Applications from both students about to conclude their Ph.D. thesis, and newly minted PhDs are welcome. The selected candidate will join the research team including Elisabetta Lodigiani, Lorenzo Rocco (PI) and Elisa Tosetti.

P2) a six-month contract, renewable by a two-year postdoc, to manage an online survey on students from a sample of Italian middle schools. During the initial six-month contract, the gross salary will be 9,600 euro (about 1600 euro net per month). For eligible and qualified candidates, in the two-year postdoc the gross salary will be at least 23,500 euro per year (about 1700 euro per month net of taxes) and possibly higher for performing candidates. Ideal candidates should have prior experience in data collection, should be able to get in touch with schools and local government administrations, and keep good relations with them. They should also be trained in data management and reporting. Holding or attending a PhD degree in economics, sociology, statistics, psychology or education is preferable but not mandatory. Holding a master degree in the above-mentioned fields is required. The selected candidate will join the research team including Giorgio Brunello (PI), Lorenzo Rocco and Sergio Scicchitano.
