Title: "Passion for apps in sustainability"

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of using mobile apps in the classroom in teaching sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to undergraduate students as part of a management course. Although previous papers state the importance of apps, there are scarcely any studies analysing its importance in management training, and particularly in sustainability management. To achieve our main goal, drawing upon action learning system, we designed and rolled out several training sessions using technology tools, mainly apps. The effectiveness of using apps was assessed with two surveys (pre- and post-training) with questions about consumption, lifestyle and sustainability and CSR management. The results demonstrate that students found this type of learning beneficial, showing an increase in their commitment to social and environmental issues. These findings underline the potential for apps in teaching sustainability at undergraduate levels, in combination with more traditional methods.
