Internship within the Erasmus+ Programme

Case 1 - Undertaking an internship abroad during Erasmus+ for Study

It is possible to undertake a curricular internship abroad during Erasmus+ for Study, provided that the internship does not interfere with attending classes and taking exams.

The possibility of completing an internship during the study abroad period is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering both the student's needs and the host organization's requirements.

a) If the host University awards credits for internship activities:

Contact the Internship office at the host university.

The internship will appear in the 'Learning Agreement' just like any other exam taken at the host university during the mobility period.

After the mobility period, the 'Transcript of Records' must include the entry "internship": the host university must award the same ECTS credits for the internship as those specified in the study plan.

b) If the host University does NOT award credits for internship activities:

Contact the dSEA Stage & Placement Service.

The dSEA's International Mobility Office will:

  • Close the status of “Erasmus student.”
  • The period covered by the Erasmus Study grant will be closed, but the internship abroad can still be undertaken (without funding).
  • Request documents and instructions at stage.economia@unipd.it

Case 2 - Undertaking an internship abroad with Erasmus+ for Traineeship

It is possible to apply for the Erasmus+ for Traineeship grant to undertake an internship at a foreign company with a community contribution adjusted according to the cost of living in the destination country.

All information regarding requirements, documents, deadlines, and application procedures can be found in the call for applications, which is managed by:

Career Service Office of the University of Padua - International Internships
Tel. 049 827 3071
stage.estero@unipd.it

In the case of a credited internship:

Within 40 days after the end of the internship, the student is required to:

> have the end-of-internship documents filled in, stamped and signed by the company Tutor, changing the file name to their SURNAME and FIRST NAME (leaving the rest intact - e.g. ‘ROSSI MARIO - Internship final documents.pdf’), send everything in PDF format to stage.economia@unipd.it, within the internship registration deadlines

In order to be registered, the foreign traineeship must be completed or be terminated early; it is therefore necessary to calculate well when the final documentation is sent because it must comply with the dates set for the delivery of traineeship documents in Italy and entails the termination of the traineeship.

> upload the final internship report online following the rules for reporting internships in Italy

For MED students, the report must be signed on the title page by the professional tutor in application of the new regulations or delivered in paper format, signed on the title page by the educational tutor and the professional tutor in application of the old regulations, as provided for by the respective procedures. Please note that the report must be cleared for upload by the Academic Tutor and that its evaluation must be carried out within the internship registration deadlines.
