  A.Y. 2026/2027

17 December 2026
On December 17, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, the LEM will host a special guest lecture for Master’s degree students in Applied Economics. The session will be delivered by Paolo Crosetto, Senior Research Director at INRAE (the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) and researcher at the Grenoble Applied Economics Laboratory (GAEL). Dr. Crosetto is an expert in experimental economics and behavioral economics, focusing on consumer problems, mainly in the domain of food consumption. During this four-hour session, students will explore the methodological challenges and practical applications of measuring risk aversion in a controlled laboratory setting.

  A.Y. 2025/2026

During the A. Y. 2025/2026, the lab hosted 428 hours of teaching activities at the Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD levels and accommodated 165 different exams. In addition to our own courses, the facility is also used by the Departments of Political Science, Law and International Studies (SPGI), Chemical Sciences (DiSC) and Psychology. Finally, the LEM hosted 86 hours of experimental sessions, supporting collaborative research projects involving at least three faculty members from our department.

Sustainability Lab-LEM Call 2026
The Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” launched the 2026 Sustainability Lab-LEM Call to support the continuation of LEM laboratory activities and promote the use of experimental methodologies in economic research. Funding could also be used for training courses designed to facilitate access to the laboratory for Department members or to develop collaborations with other laboratories for participant recruitment.

The call made available a total budget of €8,000 from the Department’s 2026 BIRD funds, with funding of €4,000 for each of two projects. Both tenured and tenure-track staff, as well as non-structured Department members (PhD students, research fellows, postdoctoral researchers and research grant holders) were eligible to serve as Scientific Coordinator.

Proposals could address any topic within experimental research and were required to have a duration of two years from the date of funding approval by the Department Council.

2025 Call: Antonio Nicolò, Roberto Ganau
2024 Call: Francesco Campo, Orestis Troumpounis, Silvia Rita Sedita, Marco Bettiol

10 June 2026
On 10 June 2026, the LEM hosted a special session for students as part of the Me.Mo project promoted by the Scuola Galileiana and other Schools of Excellence. The programme support high-achieving secondary-school students from disadvantaged socio-economic and non-academic backgrounds, with particular attention to STEM disciplines and female participation. During a two-hour activity in the dSEA’s LEM computer laboratory, students took part in simulated experiments on strategic behaviour, exploring how economic theories predict actual behaviour and the conditions that encourage cooperation. The session offered participants direct experience of an academic research environment and of how empirical data are collected in economics.
